Wednesday was with a group from DSM, and they were great. Matt and Chip from DSM put this together, and brought a great crew. the weather cooperated for most of the day, and despite a very big ground swell it was a nice day to go fishing. We started a little shallower than the other days we had been this year. The day started off with a bite before we even got all of our spread out! Unfortunately it was not a very edible fish. The fish I was hoping for was a nice wahoo, but instead it was a very large False Albacore. We did a little better the rest of the day with a wahoo, some dolphin, and a king mackerel.

We ended a bit early to try and look for a cobia inshore, but as soon as we got near shore the clouds moved in and it was hard to find the bait, or see the cobias swimming on the surface. Despite that effort we really had a nice day, thanks guys.

Another great group for a great cause. Gregg, Ken, Chris, Sam, and Grey were a fantastic group and they did a good job. The weather started off a little rough, but got much better as the day went on. We started a little slow, but finished strong. We got covered up a couple of times with gaffer size dolphin, and added some single bites scattered through the day.

The event is about raising money for canser research, and this is the third annual. They do a superb job at raising money for this cause, and I hope it only grows. I also hope that these guys will come back and see us for another fun relaxing day on the water.

Friday May 6th we enjoyed having Steve, Lewis, and Marty fish with us. Only 3 anglers on board, and I think Marty pretty much caught all of the fish. Steve told me it was all about him getting to enjoy the day, but I think Marty was up for the challenge. I think he had a little help from upstairs, since he is the preacher at Steve and Lewis' church. Regardless it was a very nice day, and we were able to catch a few fish as well. I think we pretty matched what we caught on Monday with a wahoo, and some nice dolphin.

I really appreciate Steve, Lewis and Marty joining us and hope they can make it back again sometime.

It is a time for some fishing reports! We finally went fishing offshore, it has been since October 16, 2011. The first day was Monday May 9th, and we had Clyde, L.O., Ed, and Mike onboard to enjoy a very nice day on the water. We just picked at it all day, and ended with a nice catch. We caught 1 wahoo, and 9 dolphin.

Most important was the weather and nice day we enjoyed fishing together. It is always a nice time when Clyde can get away from the office, and relax. We do have many open days available so give us a call for information on a nice day on the water.

I can not believe we are at the end of another year! I like to take time and reflect this time of the year and say thank you to all of our friends that fished with us this year, as well as saying thank you to Clyde and Jane. They are very special people, and I appreciate everything they do. Also a big thank you to Justin for his help this summer as well.

This years fishing was fun, and we actually ended up catching more billfish this year than last, despite our slow start. The wahoo fishing was very good this fall, and the dolphin helped us out all summer long. Our last trip with Lee Philips and all of his friends was very good. We caught 13 blackfin tunas, and four nice wahoo. I am not sure if we will make another trip this year or not, but the last one was a good one to set the tone for next year.

We have A LOT of open days for next year, and I hope to see many of our friends from this year, and many new ones as well. So I would like to close with a wish of a very happy holiday season. I hope it is safe and I look forward to the warm season to see what is biting.

Friday was a very nice day with Jack and Doug. Yes that was all that fished with us. These two were super nice and a great twosome to have on the boat. The fishing was a little scrappy, but they managed to catch 4 wahoo, and a blackfin tuna. We also caught some false albacore. The weather got better and better through the day, and by the end it was picture perfect. These two get together to fish every year, and I hope they keep us in mind next year.

Saturday was with two boats, the Impulse and ourselves. Christopher Bannister was able to put this all together, and what a fine job. On our boat we had Bob, Doug, Tony, Tom, and Penny. The fishing was not the hottest, but the weather was exactly the way you would want it for a day of offshore fishing. We managed to catch 3 wahoo with Tom catching the largest wahoo of the year on our boat, at 60 lbs it was a great catch. The Impulse managed a 58 lb wahoo. We caught the biggest but The "other guys" caught more. (by 2 fish). The one outstanding catch of the day however was Penny's big blackfin tuna. (see below) Anyway thanks for a great day, and I hope that Chris can get this crowd tegether again for another fun trip.

Igor threatened Bermuda, but was far enough away to give us a chance to get out and do some fishing Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday part of a two boat charter organized by Jim Cook, and involved the Dancin Outlaw as well. We had Tom, and Larry, and Scott among others that were on our boat. We caught 3 wahoos out of several bites, and one sailfish. Dancin Outlaw caught a couple more meat fish than we did, but I think both boats had a great time. I know I did.

Wednesday we had the Omara family with us, and they did a great job. The weather was even better on Wednesday than Tuesday, but both days were great. The Omara family did catch a few more fish, which included 3 dolphin and three wahoo, along with a sialfish also. Once again a great crew to have on the boat, and I hope we can fish with both parties again.

We do have many open dates available, and the Wahoo Challenge is fast approaching, and we have openings for that as wee. For more info please call 252-241-3353

Jason and Ryan fished with us last Thursday and I am glad they did. They were awesome, and the fishing was fantastic! The weather was a little sketchy in the morning, but as the day went on it got much better, and the fishing certanly got better. We finished with 8 wahoos to go with a sailfish as a kicker. We coould have caught more wahoo, but that was our limit.

These guys made this trip for us, and I hope we helped them.

We are open with a lot of dates available in the fall so call for details.
