The Yellowfin is one of the favorites. We catch them in late winter through early summer with scattered bites and schools showing up through the entire summer. They will show up again in early to late fall. The Yellowfin makes great table fair and is caught offshore while trolling for other offshore species. They can grow quite large ,but the average size for this area is 30 to 50 lbs. They fight hard all the way up to the leader and many times if you hook one you will hook more. This fish is my favorite to eat, and I always have an eye out for them jumping on the surface.
