Mahi Mahi (Dolphin Fish)

The Mahi Mahi is the summertime favorite! They are probably one of the most beautiful fish in the entire ocean. They taste pretty good also! The dolphin in the summer can be caught in shallow and in the deep, deep ocean. The other nice thing is they grow very fast and eat anything. We catch these fish starting early spring through early fall. They are also usually around the same areas we try to catch billfish, so while we are waiting for the billfish many times we are entertained with the acrobatic antics of the dolphin. These fish school up almost all the time and are a great past time for the kids, so keep that in mind if you want to take children fishing, which in my eyes is always a good thing.
